The Difference Between Self Actualization, Self Development and Self Realization

Self-Actualization — Today, I am going to be talking about what is the difference between self-actualization, self-development and self-realization. This is a quick informational video so that I can point you in the right direction depending on what your interests are.

Self-actualization is the desire to achieve one’s GREATEST potential in life. It is the HIGHEST level desire you can have.

It will fuel your development in ALL areas. So, if you are someone who self-actualizes, you have that desire inside you to become the BEST “you” that you can be. If you are watching this video then, I have a really strong feeling that you are a person who is self-actualizing. I encourage you to explore that even deeper.

If however you think:

“No, I am just checking out this video”

Then, understand that by checking out this video, you are at least STARTING to tap into your self-actualization — the desire to become the greatest you, to serve your highest good and to reach your highest potential. I would encourage you to go FURTHER with that.

Self Development

Now, self-development is the actual DOING of self-actualization. Self-actualization is the desire. Self-development is the process of self-actualization.

It is the techniques you learn and implement for yourself. It is the information that you go and seek and implement. It is the conversations that you have with other people to CHALLENGE your mind and your belief systems and to constantly strive for that next thing, that next truth, that next awareness.

That is the process of self-development. It is the actual doing part of the self-actualization.

Lastly, self-realization is the HIGHEST form of self-development.

It is the highest achievement of someone who has self-actualized and who is on a path of self-development. Self-realization means to truly, experientially and COMPLETELY understand yourself as a spark of God’s consciousness.

The only way to self-realize is through meditation and the spiritual practice. To have full self-realization, the fastest path for doing that is Kriya Yoga.

That’s why I personally do Kriya Yoga meditation every day. That’s the difference between the three terms of self-development, self-actualization and self-realization.

Whatever your path might be, where you are, I encourage you to take the fact that you are watching this video as a sign that it is time to go DEEPER.

If you are only starting to see that maybe you FEEL like self-actualizing and you could start developing yourself, then it’s time to get REAL with yourself and to start developing in every way possible because you only live this life once.

You are only here for a certain amount of days. Why not make them as AMAZING as possible? Why not achieve as much progress as possible because it’s going to allow you to achieve the MOST satisfaction.

The end goal is that when you are on your deathbed, you want to be able to look back at life and say:

“Man, that was AMAZING. I would not have done it any other way!”

Getting in tune with your desire for self-actualization and processes and tools for self-developing, then self-realizing, if that calls to you, all of those things are going to bring you to that place when you are leaving this world, FULLY satisfied.

You could not have done it any other way…

Self realization is simply having developed the Self discipline necessary to do what you know you should be doing and why you should be doing it.

On the other hand, if it feels like you’re being skinned alive, if it feels like a prolonged evisceration, if you feel your identity unraveling, if it twists you up physically and drains your health and derails your life, if you feel love dying inside you, if it seems like death would be better, then it’s probably the process of awakening. That, or a helluva case of gas.

or if it suggests that someone else is better or above you; if it’s about belief or faith or worship; if it raises or alters consciousness; if it combats stress or deepens relaxation, or if it’s therapeutic or healing, or if it promises happiness or relief from unhappiness, if it’s about any of these or similar things, then it’s not about waking up. Then it’s about living in the dreamstate, not smashing out of it.

Here’s a simple test. If it’s soothing or comforting, if it makes you feel warm and fuzzy; if it’s about getting into pleasant emotional or mental states; if it’s about peace, love, tranquility, silence or bliss; if it’s about a brighter future or a better tomorrow; if it makes you feel good about yourself or boosts your self-esteem, tells you you’re okay, tells you everything’s just fine the way it is; if it offers to improve, benefit or elevate you,

Now that you've encouraged me to further myself in self actualization, where do I start? How do I further this process?
What IS Kriya Yoga? Stretches? Meditation? Perhaps a video :)
